Tata motors Curvv coupe SUV test mule spied testing for the time in India

After being in talks and concept form for such a long period the first ever test mule of the forthcoming coupe SUV Tata Curvv has finally surfaced on the internet. Team-BHP recently shared a few pictures of what we know as the first test mule of the Tata Curvv coupe SUV. The images show this radically different SUV for the first time on Indian roads. The Tata Curvv test mule was accompanied by a few other test mules which include the forthcoming Nexons mule and another one which appears to be either the test mule of the upcoming Harrier or Safari facelift.

From the pictures, it can be noted that the test mule of the Tata Curvv features the innovative coupe-like rear end in an SUV. What is even more interesting is that the company has gone above and beyond in trying to keep it disguised as a normal sub-compact SUV rear end. From the front, we can note a ton of similarities between the test mule and the concept of the Curvv which was shown earlier this year in January.

In general, it can be noted that this new SUV will most likely feature a front end similar to that of the forthcoming Nexon facelift. From the side profile as well the Curvv appears to be very similar to the Nexon facelift. Eagle eyed viewers can note that the same set of camouflaged alloy wheels have been fitted in both the Curvv and the Nexon facelift test mule. Moving on apart from the exterior spy shots, there are no images available that show the interior of the SUV but we can expect it to be close to the concept that was shown back in January of this year.

In other Tata Curvv news, recently Tata Motors registered a new trademark in India called Frest, which is believed to be the name of the production version of the Tata CURVV concept SUV. As mentioned the Curvv was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and is expected to be launched in 2024.

According to prior reports the Tata Frest will be launched before the Tata Sierra EV, which is also expected to be launched in 2024. The Sierra EV concept was a hit at the 2023 Expo and is expected to be a popular model when it is launched. The launch of the Frest and the Sierra EV is part of Tata Motors’ plan to expand its electric vehicle lineup. The company has already launched the Nexon EV and the Tigor EV, and it is planning to launch several more electric vehicles in the coming years.

In terms of the powertrains, the Curvv or Frest is expected to be offered with petrol, electric, and CNG powertrains. Recent  It is based on Tata’s new Gen 2 platform, which is also used for the Nexon and Altroz. The Curvv is expected to be a premium SUV, and it is rumored to be priced in the range of ₹15-20 lakh.
