Tata Motors Harrier mid-sized SUV waiting time reduced to just 3 weeks

One of the country’s top automakers, Tata Motors, recently announced that the waiting period for one of its most popular SUVs, the Harrier, has been reduced to three months. Customers can now receive delivery of their new Tata Harrier in a significantly shorter period of time compared to its competitors. The company also launched an updated iteration of this SUV, which includes the much-anticipated ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), six airbags, a 360-degree parking camera, and more.

With the latest update, both the Harrier and its elder sibling Safari received a host of ADAS features. These features include Forward Collision Warning, which alerts drivers using audio-visual means, Automatic Emergency Braking that applies brakes automatically if required, and watching out for traffic signs such as speed limits and no overtaking. High beam assist automatically switches from high beam to low beam when oncoming vehicles are detected. Other features include Lane Change Alert, Door Open Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Collision Warning.

The new Harrier also comes with a 360-degree camera, ADAS, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a new fully digital instrument cluster, and a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory and welcome function. Additionally, the popular SUV gets features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, auto-dimming IRVM, all-wheel disc brakes, EPB, iRA connected car technology, six airbags, drive modes, terrain modes, cruise control, an air purifier, automatic climate control, and more than 200 voice commands in six languages.

Regarding the drivetrain, the new updated Harrier did not receive any major changes except for a new RDE-compliant engine. The Harrier continues to draw its power from the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum of 167 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque, with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Despite launching a new update, Tata Motors is also developing a new Harrier facelift. The model has been spotted testing across the country, and in the most recent sighting, some of the highlights of the facelifted model were noticed in detail. The most recent spy shots of the Harrier facelift revealed that it will look slightly different from the existing model. The split headlamp setup will be retained, but the bumper will look slightly more edgy and sharper than before, giving the Harrier a more muscular appearance.

The major difference on the interior side of things will be the addition of a new touchscreen infotainment system, which will look a lot more premium than the older version and will be similar to what we have seen with the Red and Dark Editions of the Harrier and Safari. Additionally, in terms of the drivetrain options, the new Harrier facelift could be offered with the brand’s newly introduced 1.5 L TGDi petrol powerplant. This new motor will be able to produce a peak torque of 280 Nm between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm and a power output of 170 bhp at 5,000 rpm.
