Safe cars can save lives and we have seen multiple examples of the same. This accident has been narrated by the owner of the Tata Punch who thanked the build quality of the Tata Punch after getting out without a scratch of the car.

According to the owner of the Tata Punch, he was travelling on the highway between Ankleshwar and Bardoli. He says that the Tata Punch got out of control while driving. However, he did not say how did it happen. There is no reason for losing the control of the vehicle given in the report as well.

The Tata Punch then rolled over multiple times and fell in the ditch on the shoulder of the road. The Tata Punch lying in the ditch seems to be severely damaged. Even the front wheel of the Punch came out and the suspension seems to be broken.

The video also shows the front airbags of the Punch worked perfectly and opened to keep the passenger safe. The owner was in driver’s seat when the accident happened and says that he had his seatbelt on, which ensured that he remains injury-free.

The owner also added that buyers should choose safe cars over features, looks and fuel efficiency. Even he chose the Tata Punch after a lot of research. He wanted a safe car over anything else.

Tata Punch has scored five-star rating

In 2021, the Tata Punch underwent Global NCAP crash tests, and it achieved an impressive score of 16.45 points out of 17 for adult occupant protection. This makes it the safest car currently manufactured in India. The Punch also received a respectable score of 40.89 out of 49 for child occupant protection.

Introduced in November 2021, the Tata Punch is classified as a micro-SUV and is positioned between the Tiago NRG and Nexon in Tata Motors’ lineup. It is available in four variants: Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative. The Punch offers a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine as its sole engine option. Both a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT transmission are available. The Punch offers a maximum power output of 86 PS and a peak torque output of 113 Nm.

Tata Motors is planning to equip the upcoming Punch with six airbags as standard. A leaked picture from a Bharat-NCAP crash test revealed the six airbag setup in the Punch, indicating that all variants of the vehicle will come with this comprehensive safety feature. It’s important to note that only the base variants were tested during the crash tests, meaning that the vehicle seen in the test picture is a base variant.

Six airbags are not mandatory in India. After the initial plans, the government of India dropped the plan to make the six airbags mandatory due to the price hike that it will bring. Currently, Hyundai is the only manufacturer to offer six airbags as standard across its model range in India. The government has made two airbags mandatory in all the passenger cars.

Apart from the additional airbags, the Punch already offers a range of standard safety features, including ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, central locking, and brake sway control. Higher-end variants also provide follow-me-home headlamps, an anti-glare inner rearview mirror, a reverse parking camera, traction control, rain-sensing wipers, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
