Tata Safari suv facelift compared to old version; Here are the features on video

Tata Motors has levelled up the game in the premium three-row SUV category with the facelifted Tata Safari. With comprehensive changes inside-out, the new Tata Safari claims to look bolder and feel more premium than the pre-facelift model of the SUV which it replaced in October 2023. A video has landed on YouTube, which has compared the top-spec Dark Editions of both the new facelifted Safari and the pre-facelift version, giving details on all the cosmetic changes and features received by the Safari.

The video gives a 360-degree tour of both versions of the Tata Safari, indicating all the changes and new features introduced in the facelifted Safari one by one.

The SUVs are parked in what seems to be a dealer stockyard of Tata Motors and are the top-spec versions in the Dark Edition trims. The video begins with a comparison of the front profile of both versions of Tata Safari. The new version looks bolder with the revised headlamps and the daytime running LEDs with a connected LED light bar. However, the old version also manages to look aggressive even now, with the impressive split headlamp theme.

The new Tata Safari manages to look even bolder with its new grille, front and rear bumper skid plates and larger 19-inch black alloy wheels. Even at the rear, the new Safari looks more premium and contemporary with the revised LED tail lamps, which now also feature a connected LED light bar, which the pre-facelifted version didn’t get. Also, the new Tata Safari gets an automatic tailgate, which was manually operated in the pre-facelifted version.

The video also shows the massively revised cabin of the new Tata Safari, which looks more premium and tech-laden than the cabin of the pre-facelift Safari parked beside it. Both versions of the Tata Safari Dark Edition have an all-black theme for their cabins. However, the new version looks more tech-rich with a more modern and larger-sized full-TFT instrument console and floating touchscreen infotainment system.

Another new-age bit in the new Tata Safari is the touch-sensitive controls for the dual-zone automatic climate control, which look more modern than the physical buttons for the single-zone auto AC in the pre-facelift Safari. Both versions of the Tata Safari are seen here with features like a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, leather upholstery and ADAS. However, the new version looks more eye-catching with the new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, ambient lighting and a powered co-drivers seat.

While there are significant visual tweaks and new features in the facelifted Tata Safari over its predecessor, there are no changes to the powertrain under the hood. The new Safari retains the 2.0-litre 170 PS diesel engine with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission choices from the previous version of the Safari.
