0 28

Tata Tiago, which is the only four-star rated car in the segment has been involved in numerous accidents in the past. We have also read stories on how Tiago saved the lives of numerous passengers too. Here is one more accident where a Tata Tiago crashed against a tractor and breaks it into two.

The incident happened in Mysore, Karnataka. A family of four was travelling on the highway and the accident took place near Hosahalli road in Hassan district. The family was returning from a temple in Hosahalli, Kadu. While the exact details of the accident are not out and it remains unknown how the Tiago hit the tractor but it seems like an overtaking incident.

The tractor was split into two while the Tata Tiago suffered minor damages. All the passengers of the Tata Tiago and the driver of the tractor are the same.

Interestingly, this is not the first time when a tractor is split into two after an accident. A few weeks ago, a Mercedes-Benz GLC crashed into a tractor that was coming from the wrong way. Even that tractor is split into two.

An overtaking problem

One needs to know how the vehicle will accelerate, the size and the space he needs to go through. Any miscalculations can cause accidents like this. Many such accidents also turn fatal.

Slow-moving vehicles are not allowed to overtake on a lot of highways. This is for the safety of the motorists around. This is the reason why getting a commercial license for heavy vehicles in India is much difficult and requires experience. However, in most other cases, the truck drivers are not at fault.

Indian highways

We commonly see stray animals, cattle and pedestrians crossing the road. There are even vehicles that come on the wrong side or take turns without using the indicators. It is very important to ride within the safe speed limit on Indian roads so that the speed can be controlled during emergency situations.

As there is no concept of the right-of-way in India, it is always a good idea to slow down to safer speeds on the roads when approaching a crossing. Also, when on the highways, it is always a good idea to slow down while crossing populated areas like cities and villages. Even though there are proper crossings made for pedestrians, most people do not use these crossings and try to save time by loitering on the highways. Also, such areas have a high chance of stray animals and cattle.

It is always a good idea to maintain a safe speed on the highways. Such incidents where the locals ride on the opposite lane are also very common. It mostly happens near the settlements or near cities and villages along the highways.
