HR Telephone Round:

  • Get to know about your experience and the projects you worked on.
  • Tech stack you used in your previous company and what you are interested in more. Here you have to be clear on whether you want to go backend or frontend side*1.

If your experience and skills match any openings HR will move forward with your application and your rounds will be scheduled.

Round 1: Frontend (Lang: React)

  • Questions related to Async in reacting
  • Add a button on a page and apply some logic to display text.
  • Questions related to React components and where to use which one.
  • Give the output of the given code related to timeout.
  • Difference between var and let keyword in javascript.

Round 2: Frontend (Onsite)

>> Questions related to Redux.

  • How I have used redux in my previous projects and how it was helpful?
  • Write JS code to create a circle
  • Give the output of one Timeout-related question and also modification of it.
  • One DP-related programming question. It was leetcode medium-level question related to String substitution.
  • Differences in CSS position parameters like auto, static, and fixed.
  • Some basic CSS questions related to Margins, borders, and box models.

By this time I have already informed my HR that I am more inclined towards Backend and he was very accommodating.

Round 3: Backend + LLD

  • ACID properties in DBMS along with examples.
  • SQL vs No SQL. Briefly explain the differences and where to use what?
  • Discussion on projects and was asked to explain to anyone in detail.
  • LLD for the human mouth. This took most of the time and was a very interesting brainstorming question*2.

It was also the best time to ask the team you will be joining if you are selected and questions surrounding your role and responsibilities.

Round 4: HR Round

This was more of a confirmation call. This was to know your expectations and negotiation. Along with this if you have any questions related to the team or anything related to compensation can be cleared here.

  • Although I chose frontend first due to more experience in that side they were considerate enough to let me switch to backend amid interviews. This was super helpful as I realized during the process that I am more inclined toward the backend.
  • This was with the hiring manager and he was actively participating in the LLD question brainstorming part which made it fun problem to solve.
