“Madonna who? That can’t be her? Can it?” one viewer tweeted.

I really wish Madonna never touched her face. There really was no reason,” another lamented. “She was going to age beautifully. She’s always been beautiful.”

“This legit looks like a Madonna impersonator with pics of [the] real Madonna in the background. She really f—ed up her face,” another person jabbed.

“Madonna looks good for her age … if her age is 2,700-year-old vampire who eats babies and small animals alive,” a fourth person piled on.

One critic went a step further, comparing the singer’s look to the Jigsaw killer from the Saw movies and asking: “Who wore it better?”

Several others urged the seven-time Grammy winner to embrace the aging process.

“Madonna needs to stop with the plastic surgery,” one person wrote. “She’s nearly unrecognizable at this point.”

“Here’s what I’ve learned after four decades in music: If they call you shocking, scandalous, problematic, provocative or dangerous, you are definitely onto something,” the songstress said in her introduction of Smith and Petras, perhaps already anticipating some of the social media backlash.

She continued, “I’m here to give thanks to all the rebels out there forging a new path and taking the heat for all of it. You guys need to know — all you troublemakers out there — you need to know that your fearlessness doesn’t go unnoticed. You are seen, you are heard; and most of all, you are appreciated.”

Earlier in the night, the Queen of Pop shared a look at her outfit, in which she paired a black blazer with a white button-up shirt, black tie and fishnet stockings, to Instagram set to Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal’s B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All).

“That is not a look,” one person commented, with another adding, “It just does not work from someone old enough to collect a retirement cheque.”

A third noted that without Instagram “filters” she looked “completely different.”
