The official trailer for Sony’s upcoming movie, Kraven The Hunter, has been released, and it really does not show any mercy. After the revelation that the film would receive an R-rating, fans went head over heels, wondering how far Sony would go with this movie to tell an interesting story about this Marvel anti-hero.

Fans are shocked to see so much blood and murder throughout the film’s trailer. Kraven the Hunter, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, is seen killing multiple people, and the trailer doesn’t shy away from showcasing how Sergei Kravinoff transforms into the hunter we know and love. Fingers crossed that this film won’t shy away from its violent nature once it is released.

While there is excitement for the film, fans were reminded that this is a Sony Picture production. There are now fears that the R-rating wouldn’t be enough to give this Marvel character the justice it deserves on screen.

While there is excitement in the air to see the high level of violence, we must not forget the changes Sony Pictures has made for the film adaptation of this character. It was stated last year that this version of Kraven will be more like an “anti-hero” and an “animal lover and protector,” unlike his comic book counterpart. It was also revealed that Kraven the Hunter was shot on location, in hopes for the film to feel authentic and to make this character be part of the real world.

Kraven the Hunter will not only star Taylor-Johnson, but will also include Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose, and Fred Hechinger. It is set to be released in theaters on Oct. 6, 2023.
