The Coffin of Andy and Leyley receives progress report and minor patch – Destructoid

0 25

The controversial The Coffin of Andy and Leyley has attracted a lot of attention thanks to its story which is both disturbing and steeped in dark humor. It is being released in chapters, with the first two out already. A recent progress report on Steam lets fans know what’s happening with the game’s development.

For the sake of communication, the plan is to have a progress report out on the first week of each month. Following the release of patch 2.0.9, work still needs to be done on the technical side, including a pending audio playback fix. It was postponed because it “needs more stress testing,” so it may arrive in the next patch instead.

There is a pair of quality-of-life features being evaluated. The first concerns better saved game labels, and the other is a chapter select menu. No confirmation is given on when you can expect these improvements to be released because they need “to be very thoroughly tested to avoid breaking game data as much as possible.

The update also addresses questions some have had concerning the different possible episode 2 endings. Kit9 explains that neither are signs of a “good” or “bad” ending trajectory. Instead, “Decay and Burial will be two entirely unique story branches. Each will have a variety of outcomes of their own.”

The Coffin of Andy and Leyley Patch 2.0.9

The 2.0.9 patch is a very minor one, and the notes only include the following:

  • Fixed typos.
  • Disabled file drag and drop to window.
  • Made double tile doorways function better.
  • Fixed a missing wall segment in demon puzzle area.

An official release date for episode 3 has yet to be announced, though it has been stated that it is coming in 2024.
