The Nothing Phone (2) will come to the US later this year

0 22

So, Carl Pei’s Nothing is the newest kid on the block and, after the launch of the Nothing Phone (1), we can see that it’s one of the cool kids. The company did make some waves with its first phone, but what about its successor? Well, Carl Pei just confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will come later this year and it will hit the US market.

It seems odd that the ex-OnePlus executive Carl Pei is talking about the company’s second phone already. While phones do have yearly updates, Pei recently said that the company doesn’t want to start focusing on the next phone just yet. It’s focusing on delivering Android 13 to the Nothing phone (1) before thinking about a second phone.

For all that the Phone (1) gets right, it was still manufactured by a relatively small team of people. This means that Nothing needs to be more aware of how many people are working on one project.

The Nothing Phone (2) will launch in the US

According to Inverse, Nothing will make a significant push into the US market. “We decided to make the U.S. our No. 1 priority in terms of markets,”. While Nothing skipped the US with its first phone, the Nothing Ear (1) did make it stateside. In fact, about a third of its sales came from the states. “If you look at our earbuds sales, about one-third comes from the U.S. And by not launching our phone in the U.S., we’re leaving potentially a third of the volume on the table,” Pei said in an interview.

This means that when Nothing eventually launches the Nothing Phone (2), it will make it to the US market. That’s good news for people who were excited about the first generation- it’s not like Carl Pei didn’t hype it up enough.

In any case, we don’t have any information on the Nothing Phone (2) at all. So, we don’t know when to expect this phone to launch. Since Nothing does have a smaller team, we expect the company to get everything in order with Android 13 on the Nothing Phone (1) before it starts pushing the next iteration.
