The OnePlus 11 survives a durability test, but…
One thing we can count on like the smartwatches on our wrists is Zach Nelson doing a durability test of a new and exciting phone. The recently released OnePlus 11 just underwent his classic durability test, and the results are good, but they’re also bad at the same time.
The OnePlus 11 is the latest device to launch from the company, and it’s definitely one of the most powerful devices on the market. It’s certainly more exciting than the OnePlus 10 to most people, and it heavily undercuts the likes of the latest Galaxy S phones and iPhones.
The OnePlus 11 just underwent a durability test
At this point, most of you should know the deal with Zach Nelson’s durability tests. He runs the popular YouTube channel called Jerryrig Everything. It’s approaching 8 million subscribers, so you might want to check it out.
In this video, he scratched the display with hardness picks, burned the display with a lighter, and scraped the frame with a box cutter. However, everyone really comes for the bend test. He bent the phone from both the front and the back.
Now, the OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10T failed this test horribly. Both phones bend like paper, and that is NOT a good look. So, how did this phone fare? Well, we’re happy to report that the phone did not bend in half. After the torture test, the phone was still fully functional. There was a bit of flex, but it didn’t bend.
But, it’s not all sunshine, folks. The back glass cracked in multiple places. If you remember the past durability tests, you’d know that the OnePlus 10/10T failed at the antenna line. Well, the glass cracked at the antenna line on the OnePlus 11. It was right under the camera bump, so that’s a definite weak spot.
He concluded that there’s enough air between the back glass and the rest of the phone. This makes it possible for cracks to extend throughout the back of the phone. He was even able to simply press his thumbs on the back of the phone to make the cracks to extend.
