During CES 2023, TCL announced some interesting devices that we should look forward to. Of those devices, we got word about the TCL Tab 8 LE. This budget-friendly tablet will officially launch on Thursday, January 12th.

TCL announced three tablets during the recent event. The first is the NXTPAPER 12 Pro. This is a tablet that uses the company’s innovative NXTPAPER display technology. It’s meant to provide an extremely comfortable viewing experience. This tablet will have a 12.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It will use the MediaTek MT9771 SoC, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Keeping the lights on will be an 8000mAh battery. You’ll be able to charge with 18W of power.

The other is the Windows 11-powered TCL BOOK X12. This 2-in-1 will use the Snapdragon 7C SoC. Also, it will have 4GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage.

The TCL Tab 8 will be for the budget-conscious

The two aforementioned tablets are expected to run a higher price tag, but the TCL Tab 8 LE will sport more subdued specs. The main draw for this tablet will be the LTE connectivity provided by T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile. You’ll be able to buy this tablet through those companies.

Digging into the specs, there’s nothing to write home about. We’re looking at an 8-inch display with a 720p resolution, so you’d want to use this device to watch movies and TV shows. While the resolution is low, TCL does a great job of producing good-looking displays at lower resolutions.

As for the processor, TCL didn’t tell us what’s powering this device. We can expect a lower-end MediaTek quad-core processor. Also, we don’t know how much RAM is in this tablet, but 3GB wouldn’t be too far out of the question. As for the storage, we’re looking at 32GB which can be expanded to 512GB.

Rounding out the specs, the TCL Tab 8 LE comes with a 5MP camera, dual-firing speakers, and a modest 4080mAh battery. You can pick up this tablet starting on January 15th.
