‘The Voice UK’ 2022 winner Anthonia Edwards has been announced as a special guest on Billy Ocean’s upcoming UK tour.

Ocean personally chose Edwards to join him after seeing her on ‘The Voice’ and hearing her version of his hit ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’.

Kicking off at the Stoke Regent on Friday 17th March, the tour will travel to 21 towns and cities across the UK throughout March and April, with the final show set to take place at the Blackpool Opera House on Saturday 29th April.

Edwards will perform at some of the country’s most stunning theatres and concert halls, including the iconic London Palladium on Monday 17th April.

Edwards said: “I’m so excited to be going on my first ever tour, and it’s an absolute honour for it to be with a legend like Billy Ocean. I’ve grown up with his music, and actually released a cover of ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’ last year so this is all a bit surreal! I can’t wait to get out and perform in front of his amazing fans across the UK.”

Ocean said: “When I saw Anthonia’s performances on The Voice and then her version of ‘Love Really Hurts’, I knew she would be the perfect opening artist for the UK tour.”

Edwards is a 25-year-old qualified nurse from Blackheath, London. She was coached to victory on last year’s series of ITV’s ‘The Voice UK’ by Sir Tom Jones, beating four other finalists to take the coveted crown.

She has since signed a prestigious recording contact with major record label EMI, and released her debut single ‘Anyone’, a reimagined version of the hit single by Justin Bieber, with new music planned for release later this year.

Tickets for the Billy Ocean tour are on sale now from www.gigsandtours.com and www.billyocean.com
