The lifestyle off-roader from the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited the Jimny gained a ton of popularity even before its official debut. It has now become even more popular since it began arriving at dealerships. As we all know, this car is a lifestyle SUV that can be used to tackle off-road terrains and have fun on weekends. So in order to test how comfortable it would be to sleep inside the car during real-life situations such as camping, a YouTuber recently tested the SUV.

The video of the YouTuber testing the camping abilities of the all-new Jimny was shared on the India Revs channel on YouTube. In the beginning, the presenter provides a brief introduction to the Jimny as a lifestyle product and shows the ergonomics of the SUV. He first takes a seat in the driver’s seat of the car and explains that the car has four-way adjustable seats in the front. Unfortunately, there is no height adjustment available for shorter drivers, but the presenter notes that the car has ample visibility.

He then shows the rear of the car and explains how the second-row seats can be folded to increase the boot capacity. Following this, he comes to the camping test of the SUV and shows how the seats inside the car can be used as a bed. To demonstrate this, he first removes the headrest from the driver’s seat and slides it all the way to the front. He then reclines the seat fully and slides it back to touch the rear seats, completing the bed formation.

He then moves to the passenger side of the car and repeats the same process, but with an important note. The YouTuber states that removing the headrest should only be done when the car is stationary and not being driven. He adds that it could become a huge safety hazard if the vehicle is being driven without the headrest. The headrest helps to absorb a huge impact during a crash that would otherwise come to the neck, which could be fatal.

The presenter then demonstrates how to ingress and sit in the newly formed bed in the Jimny. He mentions that getting in is a little difficult but can be done and is quite comfortable to lie down on. He then states that the car can definitely be used as a camping vehicle.

The Jimny is the brand’s only ladder-on-frame SUV and comes equipped with the Suzuki AllGrip Pro system, which includes 2H, 4H, and 4L low-range transfer gear. As for the powerplant, the SUV features a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated K15-B engine from Maruti Suzuki, which is currently only seen in the Ciaz sedan. The SUV also comes equipped with interior creature comforts like a touchscreen infotainment system, along with Surround Sense powered by ARKAMYS. It will also have six airbags as standard in terms of safety features.
