This accessory will make Xiaomi 13 Ultra look & feel like a proper camera

Along with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the company plans to launch an accessory that will make the phone both look and feel like a proper camera. Xiaomi teased this accessory via Weibo, and it’s rather interesting.

A rather interesting camera accessory will be available for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra

Xiaomi shared a rather dark image of this accessory, but after the brightness increase (shown below), you can clearly see that this will be the case for the phone, in a way. This is a “67mm filter adapter” case.

Once attached, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra does end up looking like your regular camera, and at the same time, it adds a grip on the right side, along with a shutter button.

This case will almost certainly have a proper E67 Leica 67 UVa II filter. This makes us wonder whether the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will also include a software component for this accessory, to take full advantage of it.

Needless to say, this reminds us of both the Xperia Pro series, and Samsung’s old Galaxy Camera smartphone, simply because of its looks.

Now, even without this accessory, we expect a lot out of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, camera-wise. Needless to say, this phone is focused on the camera, a lot. The Xiaomi 13 Pro was the same way, but the ‘Ultra’ takes things to a whole new level.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be even more focused on the camera experience than the ‘Pro’ model

On top of what the Xiaomi 13 Pro offered, this thing adds variable aperture on the main camera, and a fourth camera on the back (periscope telephoto unit). Both of those details were already confirmed by Xiaomi.

Leica lenses will be included on all four cameras on the back too, while we’ll also see Leica’s influence on the software. Xiaomi opted to utilize a 1-inch camera sensor for the main camera, the Sony IMX989, while the Sony IMX858 will be used on the remaining three cameras, which is great, actually.

We’ll get a lot more information tomorrow, as that’s when the phone will launch both in China and globally.
