This Maruti Suzuki S-Presso mini SUV has been built to go off-road

The micro-SUV S-Presso from Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country’s largest carmaker, has received substantial criticism over the years due to its boxy design, poor interior quality, and lack of safety features. The model has been the subject of memes and trolls, and automotive enthusiasts, in general, despise this hatchback crossover. However, despite these facts, a few people have not been deterred from modifying the car. Recently, a video of an off-road ready Suzuki S-Presso from the Philippines has been shared online. This car has been tastefully modified to give it the appearance of a lifestyle off-roader.

The video showcasing this particular off-road ready Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has been uploaded on YouTube by Skinny Phil on their channel. The video begins in front of a small hill, where a silver S-Presso enters the frame. After the introduction, the video focuses on the front right side of the car, and shortly after, a list of modifications appears on the screen. According to the video, the car has been equipped with a set of 13-inch KNM off-road alloy wheels, finished in black with a silver bead lock style design. Additionally, the stock tires have been replaced with chunky all-terrain tires from Forceum, which might be a local brand in the Philippines. The overall wheel and tire setup look impressive and complement the silver color of the car.

Continuing, the video highlights that the rear suspension has also been lifted using rubber pucks in the springs. However, while this modification may make the car appear slightly taller, it is important to note that it is not the best method to lift a car, as it can damage the factory suspension and stiffen the ride. Moving on, the video reveals that a stainless steel tow hook has been added to the front of the micro-SUV.

The video then mentions the addition of roof rails and a 38×38-inch roof rack on top of the S-Presso. Furthermore, mud flaps have been installed on the car as well. Towards the end of the video, a brief glimpse of the interior is shown, revealing a small screen in front of the steering wheel that displays the engine temperature and voltage. It is worth mentioning that the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso does not have a traditional instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel; instead, it features an instrument cluster in the middle.

The current version of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder K10C Dualjet petrol engine, which delivers a maximum power of 66 PS and a maximum torque of 90 Nm. This engine is available with transmission options of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The micro-SUV is also available with a CNG drivetrain, in which the S-Presso offers a maximum power of 57 PS and a maximum torque of 82 Nm. The CNG version is exclusively available with a 5-speed manual transmission.

In terms of features, the S-Presso comes with 14-inch steel wheels, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, all four power windows, and a 7-inch Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a centrally-placed digital instrument console and a basic set of safety features, such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and reverse parking sensors.
