Electric vehicles are gaining popularity in India and in four wheeler segment, Tata Nexon EV is one of the most popular electric cars in the country. The car has been on sale for couple of years and Tata is now working on a version with more driving range. Meanwhile, Tirupur-based company New Energy Wagon also launched an electric car in the market. They had launched a passenger car named GAIA. The company has actually acquired rights for the vehicle from the manufacturing company GAIA in China. Here we have a detailed walkaround video that shows what all does the new electric car in town has to offer.

The video has been uploaded by Views Of Rithik on their YouTube channel. In this video vlogger talks about the brand and then shows the exterior design and interiors of the car and then goes out for a spin in it. GAIA is a very small car. One can easily relate its size to the Mahindra Reva that that was available on sale in our market years ago. The manufacturer has given some attention to the exterior of the car as it gets projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, diamond cut alloy 12 inch alloy wheels, turn indicators mounted on ORVMs and so on. The car has an overall boxy design which has been done to make it more practical. Overall the car does not look too bad for a small electric car.

This is a 2-door car that can seat 2 adults and 2 children at the rear. The rear seats can be folded completely to create boot space. There is no space at the rear for luggage if the seats are up. The GAIA electric car comes with basic features with it. There is an air conditioning system and a Tesla like touchscreen infotainment system as well. The instrument cluster on this car is a digital unit which shows details like speed, RPM, trip meter, odometer and the other information regarding the battery percentage and usage in the car while it is on the move.

GAIA can be used a perfect city car mainly because of its dimensions. Like all other electric cars in the market, GAIA is also an automatic car, the car gets a rotary knob on the centre console which says N, D and R. There is nothing much inside the car. Due to its tall boy design, there is enough headroom for passengers sitting in. The rear seat as mentioned is best for children. The vlogger then goes out for a spin in the car with a company representative who then speaks about the technical specifications of the vehicle. Vlogger does not drive the car as he is a minor.

The company representative mentions that the car is powered by a DC electric motor and the motor is powered by a 72 watts lithium0ion battery pack. The car has a claimed driving range of 150 kms and the batteries can be recharged in 4-5 hours. The cost of GAIA electric car is around Rs 7.5 lakh which will make it the most affordable electric car in the country. In the coming years, more and more manufacturers are likely to come with products that would make owning an electric car much more affordable for citizens.
