Skoda India is currently working to increase its Indian market share. The brand will bring its first electric car to the Indian market. The Enyaq iV will be launched by March 2024 and it has been spotted without any camouflage in India multiple times.

Team-Bhp recently spotted the new Enyaq driving on the Indian roads. The new car is likely to come to the Indian market by 2024 March.

The Skoda Enyaq, also known as the Enyaq iV, is built on Volkswagen Group’s dedicated MEB electric platform. While there are five versions of the Enyaq available globally, the India-bound version is expected to be the Enyaq 85.

The Enyaq 85 will feature a 82kWh battery pack and a single-motor rear-wheel drive setup, generating approximately 282bhp. It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 6.7 seconds and has a claimed range of around 565 kilometers (WLTP Cycle). It can charge from 10-80% in only 28 minutes using fast charging.

In the Indian market, the Enyaq 85 will directly compete with Hyundai’s Ioniq5 and Kia’s EV6, both of which are electric vehicles.

The Enyaq features Skoda’s signature grille design, with sharp and aggressive-looking headlamps and taillamps. It comes with large aerodynamic alloy wheels and has dimensions of 4648x1877x1618mm, with a wheelbase of 2765mm.

While there is a coupe-SUV version of the Enyaq available, it is unlikely to be launched in India alongside the standard version. The interior of the Enyaq offers a modern cabin layout with a minimalistic driver’s display, a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and fewer physical buttons.

The driver’s seat is equipped with a 5.3-inch digital display and a new Heads-Up Display (HUD) with Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The central infotainment screen is 15-inch in size, and the cabin provides ample space due to the long wheelbase of the platform. The boot space is sizable, offering 585 litres of storage capacity. The Enyaq also comes with up to nine airbags and various driver assistance and connected-car technologies.

VW will bring ID 4 SUV EV

Volkswagen India has been testing the ID 4 SUV, which shares the same platform as the Enyaq, for almost a year. However, the launch of the ID 4 is awaiting approval from Volkswagen’s global headquarters, and an official confirmation is expected by May.

Skoda will also introduce new products in the Indian market later this year. The brand is planning to launch the new Superb. As the popularity of the sedans is on the rise again, the Superb will hold the flagship sedan position in the showrooms. Skoda will also bring the facelift of the Kodiaq. The brand reintroduced the Kodiaq last year in the Indian market. However, this time, there will some more additional features including a hybrid system. Both Superb and Kodiaq will come to India as Completely Built Units (CBU) in limited numbers.

Apart from the new launches, Skoda is likely to minority update the Slavia and the Kushaq later this year. The brand updated both the vehicles developed specifically for the markets like India last year. The updates included additional features like electrically controlled seats, ambient lighting and subwoofer. We can expect a few more feature additions next year as both the vehicles remain way behind the competition when it comes to the feature list.
