At the beginning of the video, the presenter demonstrates that the vehicle is in quite a rough condition and shows the squeaky doors, dented roof, worn-out interiors, damaged bodywork, misaligned tail lamps, removed third-row seats and more. The restoration work is solely intended to bring back the vehicle to a pristine state with a Type 4 conversion. He further mentions the mechanical work carried out in the vehicle which includes the replacement of the diesel tank and gearbox. Talking about the process, all the necessary body panels like the bumpers, fenders etc. were replaced with type 4 units and the whole car was repainted from scratch.

In terms of powertrain, the old-gen model in the video used a 2.5 litre 102 bhp diesel engine. The new Crysta used an all-new 150 bhp 2.4 litre and 174 bhp 2.8-litre turbo diesel units in the new model. However, the 2.8-litre engine was later discontinued in 2020 due to the BS6 emission norms. Now, the Innova Crysta is powered by a 2.4-litre Turbo Diesel engine churning out 150 bhp of maximum power. It is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox with 343 Nm of peak torque while the 6-speed automatic gearbox version gets 360 Nm of peak torque. It also gets a 2.7 litre 166 bhp petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
