0 16

Driving or riding on Indian roads is nothing short of a challenge. One has to face several challenges like reckless drivers and riders, stray dogs and cattle, people driving on the wrong side of the road, and also jaywalkers. Hundreds of accidents happen on Indian roads every day, and many people even lose their lives because of them. Here we have a video of one such careless driver from Kerala who crashed a Toyota Innova into a Maruti Swift that was parked on the side of the road.

The video has been shared by Itz Lites On on their YouTube channel. According to the video, the accident happened in the Konni region of the Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. The video was recorded on the CCTV camera of a shop that was on the same road. In the video, we see a Mahindra Bolero pick-up slowly coming down a ramp. The driver is extremely careful and is looking at traffic from both ends. The lane road is not too wide, and there are two vehicles parked on the shoulder of the road on both sides.

We see vehicles passing through this stretch without any issues. On the right-hand side of the road, we see a Maruti Swift parked on the side. We also see a Toyota Innova approaching from the right side of the road. There is ample space for the MPV to pass; however, for some reason, the Innova driver doesn’t steer the car away. The MPV crashes into the Swift parked on the road. The Swift is pushed back and stops after hitting the rail on the road.

The Toyota MPV is now on the bonnet of the Swift. The MPV completely rolls over once before coming to a halt in the middle of the road. The MPV’s windscreen and windshields are all shattered, and some of the panels have also flown away from the car. The locals who were on both sides of the road saw this accident and started running to the car to save the occupants after it stopped. For a few seconds, we don’t see any movement in the car, and after that, the driver’s side door opens.

The driver gets out of the car as if nothing happened. He looks uninjured in this video, and he simply walks to the other side of the vehicle. It is not clear whether there were other occupants in the car when this accident happened. It looks like the driver of the car was distracted from the road and didn’t realize that the car was moving away from his lane. The driver was extremely lucky to have escaped without any injuries. Just as the Innova was rolling over, a Renault Duster was passing through the opposite lane.

The Duster driver missed the crash by a very small margin. If the Innova had hit another vehicle or the Duster, then things might have been a bit different. This video is a good example that shows why one must always be alert while driving on the road, especially in India.
