Furthermore, in April, the sales figures stood at 2,616 units, which saw a slight increase to 3,090 units in May. Although there was a minor dip in June, with 2,821 units sold, the overall sales performance of the Hyryder remains commendable. Overall, the total sales figure for the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder from January till date totals up to 19,502 units.

Comparing the figures to the previous year, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder experienced substantial growth in 2023. In August 2022, Toyota sold 3,131 units, which increased to 3,384 units in October. The sales figures further rose to 4,201 units in December, showcasing a significant upward trend and highlighting the Hyryder’s increasing popularity among consumers.

When comparing the sales figures of the Toyota Hyryder with its closest competitors, the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun, it becomes evident why the Hyryder has become the top choice for car buyers. In January 2023, the Skoda Kushaq sold 2,013 units, falling short of the Toyota Hyryder’s sales figure of 4,194 units. The trend continued in February, March, and April, with the Skoda Kushaq consistently trailing behind the Hyryder. Similarly, the Volkswagen Taigun struggled to keep up with the sales momentum of the Toyota Hyryder. With 1,455 units sold in January, the Taigun’s sales figures were less than half of what the Hyryder achieved. This trend continued throughout the year, with the Taigun consistently falling short in terms of sales numbers. Despite a slight increase in June, where Volkswagen sold 1,449 units, the Toyota Hyryder maintained a considerable lead.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes available with a strong-hybrid powertrain which consists of a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (92 Bhp-122 Nm) running on the Atkinson cycle, and an electric motor that puts out 78 Bhp-141 Nm. This powertrain is paired with an eCVT automatic gearbox, and the combined output stands at 114 Bhp.

Furthermore, the other drivetrain option available with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is a mild hybrid powertrain that consists of a 1.5-liter K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine (102 Bhp-135 Nm) paired with an electric motor that offers assist during acceleration. The K15C petrol engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and offers an all-wheel-drive system. Both of the powertrains are the same as the ones that come in the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
