Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 Sahara spotted in India before official launch
Toyota has already confirmed that the latest generation of the Land Cruiser, the LC300, will arrive in the Indian car market sometime in September 2022. The bookings of the SUV were open earlier this year, but Toyota had to stop accepting the bookings due to immense demand. And with the launch nearing, the craze for the biggie from Toyota is already at its peak. A recent video from Instagram shows that the Toyota Land Cruiser has started arriving on Indian soil ahead of its launch.
In an Instagram reel uploaded by Car Crazy India, we can see a golden-coloured Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 being driven on the streets of Coimbatore. Unlike the left-hand-drive LC300s, which have been imported from the Middle East through Carnet, this particular unit is a right-hand-drive LC300, suggesting that it is a pre-launch unit imported in India. The SUV is yet to launch officially in India, which is scheduled to take place in September 2022.

Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 Sahara
Toyota will be importing a limited number of Land Cruiser LC300 in its ‘Sahara’ version in India. Aimed at offering a good mix of luxury and comfort, the Sahara version of Land Cruiser LC300 is expected to come in nine colour options, bi-LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, 18-inch machined alloy wheels and chrome finish on the front grille, window frames, rear bumper, outside rear view mirrors and door handles.
The Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 Sahara will be offered in India as a seven-seater SUV as standard. The cabin of this SUV is equipped with high-end features like ventilated and powered front seats with memory settings for the driver’s seat, four-zone automatic climate control and a head-up display. It will also get an entertainment suite for rear passengers, an electronic tumble function for seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 14-speaker JBL audio system and a single-pane sunroof.
V6 diesel engine
The India-spec version of the ladder-on-frame Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 will get only one powertrain option – a 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. This engine claims 304 bhp pf maximum power and 700 Nm of maximum torque and is assisted with a standard four-wheel-drive system. The SUV is a proper go-anywhere vehicle with features like multiple off-road modes and a limited-slip differential. It will also be packed with modern electronics, including Level-2 ADAS.
The Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 is expected to be priced at around Rs 2 crore, which will make it a direct competitor to the likes of BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Land Rover Range Rover and its upcoming distant cousin, the all-new Lexus LX.
