Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder reaches dealerships; Here is a walk-around video

The all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder gets a very Toyota-family design. The front end looks very similar to the RAV4. The Hyryder gets large air dams with an aggressively designed front end. The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder’s front-end gets a new crystal acrylic pattern that extends to become the twin-DRLs. The main cluster lamp is located down below in the bumper. Even the rear gets sleek LED tail lamps that look very similar to the twin DRLs.

The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder is also the longest car in the segment. The new Hyryder will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and the newly-arrived Mahindra Scorpio-N.
The all-new SUV will become the first strong hybrid SUV in the segment. With the rising fuel prices, Toyota is betting on strong hybrids instead of the fully-electric vehicles. Just like Toyota, Maruti Suzuki will bring a similar D-segment vehicle to the market later this year. However, the Maruti Suzuki will not offer a strong hybrid system like the Toyota. Instead, it will come with a mild-hybrid system as we have seen in other Maruti Suzuki models.

Toyota offers two different hybrid options in the Indian market. The Neo Drive gets a mild-hybrid set-up with an auto start/stop and regeneration system. A stronger hybrid architecture is available too. It is a proper high-capacity hybrid system with a 177.6V lithium-ion battery pack.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder gets a 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle engine that produces a maximum power of 92 PS and a peak torque of 122 Nm. It gets a 14:1 compression ratio and temperature and pressure control to help achieve a thermal efficiency of 40 percent. The engine is paired to an electric motor that produces a maximum of 79 PS and 141 Nm. The strong hybrid power plant produces a maximum of 115 PS of combined power. It gets Toyota’s e-drive transmission.
The new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder offers an all-hybrid terrain. Toyota also offers an EV mode that allows the car to run only on electric power. Toyota also has an AWD system with the Urban Cruiser Hyryder which is a segment-first feature. There are various drive modes available with the all-new Hyryder.
The mild-hybrid system is the same as the system available with the Maruti Suzuki cars like the new Maruti Suzuki Brezza, XL6 and the likes.
