0 87

We’re seeing several mobile ports of console games. Just recently, Streets of Rage 4 just got a mobile port. Now, according to Android Police, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion has just made its way over to mobile platforms.

This game was originally released on consoles back in 2020 to high reviews and a lot of praise. It takes the top-down adventure game genre and adds a comedic twist to it. Now, along with being on mobile devices, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is also on the PC. You can pick it up on Steam for $14.99 (at the time of writing this, you can get it for $7.49).

This game is as adorable as it gets

So, the story behind this game is all in the title. Your character, the eponymous Turnip Boy, gets a letter in the main that he owes thousands of dollars in taxes on his greenhouse. He rips up that letter, thus committing tax evasion. He’s then confronted by the mayor and told to do tasks for him to compensate for those back taxes.

From there, you handle the tasks that the mayor wants you to do. However, along the way, you’ll be contacted by other citizens to do tasks for them like finding baby carrots and forcing roommates to pay rent.

Everything from the music to the character’s designs is as adorable as they come. The characters are talking vegetables who sometimes have funny and weird dialogue.

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion translates well to mobile

When porting over a game from consoles to mobile platforms, you expect there to be some differences. However, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion plays perfectly on mobile. You move your character using the virtual joystick on the left of the screen and you use the action buttons on the right of the screen to perform.

There’s a dash button that will make you lunge forward and you’ll have your main item button is right under it. You tap on it to use whatever item you have equipped. There’s an arrow on the left side of the button that will let you switch items.

If you’re interested in getting this game, just know that you can only get the demo version of the game from the Google Play Store for free. If you want the full version, it will cost you $5.49.
