Electric vehicles have slowly become popular in the Indian market and many people have already shifted to EVs. In two-wheeler segment, Ola, Ather, TVS, Hero are some of the mainstream manufacturers that offer electric scooters. One of the things that many electric vehicle owners are currently worried about is the life of the battery in their vehicle and how much would it cost them to replace it. Although the manufacturers are offering them a warranty, people are still quite curious to know the price. A Tweet has now surfaced online that shows how much would it cost you replace the battery pack in Ola S1 and S1 pro electric scooter.

The images of the crate in which the battery packs are shipped were shared by a Twitter user Tarun Pal. The wooden crate which had the battery clearly has a label that shows the MRP of the battery pack. The Ola S1 electric scooter which uses a 2.98 kWh battery pack would cost you around Rs 66,549. The Ola electric S1 pro electric scooter which uses a 3.97 kWh battery pack will cost you around Rs 87,298.  The label on the wooden crate clearly shows the price. The Tweet mentions that the images of the crate were shared by a Ola scooter user. It is not clear whether he was there to replace the battery pack on his scooter or he accidentally came across them at the service store. The price of the Ola S1 Pro is Rs. 1.28 lakh after the Rs. 12,000 discount that Ola Electric is currently offering buyers.

The Ola S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters are quite popular in the market. Ola launched their electric scooters in the market few years ago and ever since then it has managed to stay in the headlines. There were both negative and positive reports about the scooter and many of them have been featured on our website too. A brand Ola S1 electric scooter price starts at Rs 99,999 and the battery pack of the same costs Rs 66,549. The Ola S1 Pro electric electric scooter’s price starts at Rs 1.28 lakh. The price for the battery pack of this scooter is Rs 87,298. The image that has now gone viral on the internet shows how expensive can battery packs on these scooters can actually be.

It should be noted that the battery packs that come with the scooter are tested extensively. Ola is offering an unlimited kilometre warranty on the battery pack for three years. This means, even if the batteries on your scooter does have an issue, it will be replaced by the manufacturer free of cost. In this case, it is not clear whether the user who clicked the picture was actually visiting the dealership to replace the batteries on his scooter. Till now, we have not come across any such case in Ola scooters. Last year, we saw a similar case with India’s most selling electric SUV Tata Nexon EV. A customer was facing issues with the range of the EV and one day the vehicles stalled with 15 percent battery remaining. The battery on the EV was found faulty and it was replaced for free as it was under warranty. The customer enquired about the cost of replacing a battery pack in Nexon EV at the dealership and they told him that it would cost around Rs 7 lakh.
