Type 2 Toyota Fortuner modified into Legender [video

Toyota Fortuner is a very popular SUV in its segment. The car has been in the market for a long period of time and like many other Toyota products, Fortuner is also an extremely reliable vehicle with comparitively low maintenance cost. There are still first gen Toyota Fortuners in India that are plying on road without any major mechanical issues. Most of them may look old as the paint would have started to fade away or due to its age. There are several workshops who specialise in Fortuner customisations and here we have a video where a type 2 Fortuner SUV has been modified to look like Legender.

The video has been uploaded by Raahee on their YouTube channel. In this video, the owner of the car had brought the car to workshop for a complete makeover as his type 2 Fortuner had started looking old or dated. The owner wanted the exterior to be modified to look like Legender and the interior to be customised as well. As part of the conversion, the front bumper, rear bumper, fenders, claddings around the SUV, headlamps, foglamps, grille, tail lamps and the bonnet was completely removed from the SUV. It looks like the minor dents on the car were all fixed and it was only then the new panels were installed.

According to the video, all the panels installed on this Fortuner are genuine Toyota products. The bonnet, front grille, headlamps and bumper have all been replaced with a new Legender unit. The fog lamps on this Fortuner are projector LED units and the fenders have also been replaced. Coming to the side profile, the old alloy wheels on this SUV were replaced with current generation pre-facelift unit. The wheel arch is different and the cladding around it is also thinner like in Legender. The stock foot rest has been replaced with a retractable unit. The roof rails have been changed and the upper portion of the SUV has been completely wrapped in black.

At the rear, some fabrication work has been done in order to install the Legender tail lamps. There is an illuminated tailgate applique and the bumper is from a Legender with reflector lamps in it. The overall work done on this SUV looks good however the rear profile does look a bit odd. The interior on this SUV has been completely customised. The stock beige interiors have all been customised with a black and tan dual-tone theme. The seats are wrapped in custom made covers with diamond patterns in it. The dashboard gets black leatherette coating and tan or brown hydro dipped panels. There is an aftermarket touchscreen infotainment system installed which shows feed from the 360 degree camera.

The shop has also installed illuminated scuff plates, ambient lights, starlight roof and 7D floor mats. Damping has been done on all four doors and the owner has also installed a push start/stop button. The steering wheel has been wrapped in leather and the work done on this SUV looks pretty neat.
