Ubisoft Forward Event Officially Announced For June

0 28

Ubisoft officially announced its next Ubisoft Forward event, scheduled for June 12 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. This news comes on the heels of Ubisoft pulling out of E3, with the company stating it has decided to “move in a different direction” and hold its own presentation.

There’s no other details yet, but past Ubisoft Forward events have been streamed through YouTube and Twitch. How long the event will be is also currently unknown.

The last Ubisoft Forward was held in September 2022 and covered Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a platform for future games called Assassin’s Creed Infinity, and surprisingly, more info on the infamous Skull and Bones. Ubisoft’s delayed Skull and Bones multiple times over the years, with the most recent delay announced in January for reasons that included “providing further polish and balancing to [the] game’s experience.” In the same January announcement, Ubisoft also said Skull and Bones’ new release date and more info on test phases should be coming “very soon.”

Based on that statement, it’s likely we’ll see something about Skull and Bones in the June Ubisoft Forward. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will likely be in the presentation as well, perhaps with updated info on a possible release date. A report in December 2022 stated that Ubisoft is supposedly aiming for an August Assassin’s Creed Mirage launch.

Ubisoft has been facing “major challenges,” and announced in January that it cut three unannounced projects. “We are clearly disappointed by our recent performance,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said. “We are facing contrasted market dynamics as the industry continues to shift towards mega-brands and everlasting live games, in the context of worsening economic conditions affecting consumer spending.”
