Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways in the Government of India is pushing for electric vehicles in India. The minister sat on Yulu Miracle. The electric two-wheeler has a top speed of 25 kmph. It has a unisex frame design so males and females can ride it comfortably. The manufacturer gave special attention to keeping the vehicle lightweight and having a low centre of gravity. The centre stand is also light and easy to use. It locks automatically so the rider does not have to face any issues.

It has a single seat which has a sensor built in that senses if someone is sitting on the two-wheeler and shows the state of the battery. The battery pack is housed in the footboard. It is wide and has an ample amount of space for the legs of the rider. The front wheel is made of solid rubber so it is puncture-proof.

Moreover, the headlamp is weatherproof. The battery indicator is placed on the handlebar and there is also a mobile holder that comes in handy if the rider needs to see directions on the mobile. On the left handle, there is a bell instead of a horn and the QR code is present in the centre that needs to be scanned using the Yulu application to use the vehicle.

It is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that runs on an Atkinson cycle. Then there are two electric motors. The combined power output is rated at 126 Ps and the peak torque output is 253 Nm. There is only one transmission option which is an e-CVT and it drives the front wheels only. Nitin Gadkari has bought a Toyota Mirai for his new pilot project. He is pushing for alternative fuels and he wants to use hydrogen for heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses. Mirai uses high compression hydrogen. The powertrain of the car runs by breaking down hydrogen into water and oxygen to generate electricity. So, there is a small battery pack and electric motors. What is impressive is the range of the Mirai, it can travel up to 646 km on a single tank. The main issue with hydrogen is its availability.
