Upcoming Apple iPad Pro’s OLED displays go into production

According to various reports, the company will source the screen for the 11-inch model from Samsung Display and LG Display, and the screen for the 13-inch model from LG Display. According to The Elec, Samsung Display will start the production of the 11-inch OLED display for the iPad Pro 11-inch this week. The publication says that LG Display is expected to start the production of the 11-inch OLED display for the upcoming tablet around the same time as Samsung Display. The news outlet also points out that LG Display recently started producing the 13-inch OLED display for the iPad Pro 13-inch.

Apple to launch 2024 iPad Pro lineup in April

With the OLED displays of the two models going into mass production, The Elec says that Apple will start the production of the iPad Pro 11-inch and iPad Pro 13-inch in March 2024, and launch the two products in April 2024. Ming-Chi Kuo has also said that he expects Apple to launch the upcoming iPad Pro in the second quarter of 2024, which is from April to June. So, the new report from Korea is in line with previous reports.

Apart from an upgrade to OLED display, Apple is also expected to equip the upcoming iPad Pro lineup with Apple M3 processors, the same chipsets that it uses in the latest Mac devices. Apart from that, expect the two models to have improved cameras, better battery life, and faster connectivity options. Expect the two tablets to give tough competition to the Galaxy Tab S9 series, which Samsung launched late last year.
