Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara seven-seater

Just a few weeks ago, we shared a rendering of what the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara could look like. The rendering showed a completely redesigned iteration of the outgoing Grand Vitara. From this render, we can note the entire front fascia has been changed and has been made a lot more aggressive and bold. It has a honeycomb grille with a thick chrome bar and Suzuki logo in the middle. The LED headlights have also been made a lot sleeker and the LED DRLs also look a little bigger.

The main highlight of this render is on the side profile where the extended length of it can be noted. This rendered model has been imagined with a set of massive turbine-style alloy wheels. Additionally, it can also be noted that the C-pillar has been inspired by the popular Indian SUV Mahindra Scorpio-N. Most likely, the company will not offer such a radical design change with the 7-seat version of the Grand Vitara as it will increase their development cost. However, we could receive a slightly stretched version of the outgoing Grand Vitara.

Apart from the obvious extension of the wheelbase, mechanically, most likely they will retain the same engine options as their five-seater counterparts. There are two engine options currently available with the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The first is a strong-hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (92 bhp-122 Nm) running on the Atkinson cycle, and an electric motor that puts out 78 Bhp-141 Nm. This powertrain is paired with an eCVT automatic gearbox, and the combined output stands at 114 Bhp.

Apart from this, the other option is a mild-hybrid powertrain. This drivetrain consists of a 1.5-liter K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine (102 Bhp-135 Nm) paired with an electric motor that offers assistance during acceleration. The K15C petrol engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and offers an all-wheel-drive system.
