Upcoming Tata Punch facelift will look like this
Launched in 2021, the Tata Punch has become a significant success story for Tata Motors, consistently achieving strong sales since its introduction. This micro-SUV has impressed many with its muscular styling and design cues borrowed from Tata Motors’ larger SUVs. As the Punch approaches its two-year mark, there is growing speculation about an upcoming facelift within the next year. A recent video provides a glimpse of how the facelifted Tata Punch might appear when it arrives in the market.
The YouTube channel ‘Bagrawala Designs’ presents a digital rendering of the Tata Punch facelift, showcasing subtle yet notable enhancements to the micro-SUV’s front and rear aesthetics. The facelifted version features a slim LED daytime running strip positioned above the upper grille, similar to the current model, accompanied by additional LED DRLs on either side. The headlamp clusters have been revised, taking inspiration from the Tata Harrier electric showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. These clusters incorporate vertically-oriented triangular LED headlamps with tri-arrow-shaped daytime running LEDs located near the inner edges.

The side profile of the digital rendering remains unchanged, with the micro-SUV retaining the same 16-inch machined alloy wheels and C-pillar recessed rear door handles. The rear profile, however, receives a minor update in the form of an LED light bar that spans the width of the boot lid, connecting the tail lamps. This LED light bar complements the tri-arrow LED inserts in the tail lamps, with the overall housing remaining consistent with the current model.
Aside from these modifications, the digital rendering of the Tata Punch facelift does not showcase any other changes. Tata Motors has yet to confirm the official release date for the facelifted Punch, indicating that it is still some time away. However, when it does launch, the facelifted version is expected to feature subtle exterior refinements and a few additional cabin features. The Punch will continue to be offered with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque, paired with the choice of a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox.

Tata is currently developing the Punch EV alongside its gasoline counterpart. While specific details regarding the powertrain of the upcoming Tata Punch EV are not yet available, it is expected that the vehicle will be equipped with Tata’s Ziptron technology, similar to the Tata Tiago EV and Nexon EV. The Ziptron technology offers different battery pack options, each providing varying ranges. The recently launched Tiago EV, for instance, is available with a 24 kWh battery pack that delivers an MIDC-certified range of 315 km, while a smaller 19.2 kWh battery pack provides a range of 250 km. It is likely that the Tata Punch EV will retain these range figures as well.
