Ariana Wunderle committed to walking back and forth across a six-foot-high tightrope 52 times in four-inch heels, smashing the previous record of just four times, according to WCAX 3.

Wunderle, who grew up in a circus-performing family, unofficially broke a Guinness World Record. With her father, Troy, acting as the spotter, the 18-year-old crossed the tightrope for a length of nearly 640 feet in about an hour as her peers looked on from the stands.

Wunderle said she was happy to be able to perform her world record attempt at school.

“I mean this community has supported me throughout my life and it is really nice to be able to give back to everyone and to be able to celebrate this crazy thing,” Wunderle said.

The high-flying act was a part of her senior project to raise money for Circus Smirkus, a non-profit youth circus based in Greensboro, Vermont.

Wunderle’s family submitted the documents to Guinness World Records for formal recognition, a process that could take several months, WCAX reports.

The current record for the farthest tightrope walk in high heels is 15 meters and was set by Oxana Seroshtan of Russia.
