Vivo X Fold 2 specs appear, detailing this foldable phone

0 33

The Vivo X Fold launched back in April this year, it became the company’s very first foldable smartphone. The Vivo X Fold+ followed in September, and it was an iterative update. Neither of those two phones arrived to global markets, though. The Vivo X Fold 2 may, though, and its specs have just appeared.

The Vivo X Fold 2 is coming next year, and some of its specs have just appeared

Vivo’s X Fold 2 may arrive in April next year, if Vivo plans to stick to its release cycle, of course. Now, based on what Digital Chat Station, said, both of its displays will include in-display fingerprint scanners. It would be easier to put one on the side, but Vivo decided to go a different route.

The tipster also said that the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which makes sense. Its predecessors used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

Sony’s IMX866 sensor will sit on the back, which is the company’s 50-megapixel camera sensor. That sensor will be used as the main camera sensor on this phone, it seems.

The Vivo X Flip may arrive alongside the Vivo X Fold 2

Now, the tipster also mentioned the Vivo X Flip. That suggests that the company is working on a clamshell foldable as well. Vivo never released such a device, but its sister company did, we’re talking about OPPO.

The OPPO Find N2 Flip launched quite recently, and the initial impressions are really good. Unlike the OPPO Find N2, that handset will make its way to global markets in the first half of next year.

We’re not sure if the Vivo X Flip will resemble that phone, but we’ll see. OPPO’s vertically-folding foldable differs from Vivo’s quite a bit, so it remains to be seen what will happen with Vivo’s clamshell foldable.

We’ll surely get more information moving forward, but it seems like Vivo may release both of these foldables next year. If we had to guess, we’d say that the Vivo X Flip will launch alongside the Vivo X Fold 2. Do note that the Vivo X Flip name hasn’t been confirmed or anything of the sort.
