Vodafone Essentials Broadband: How to Get £12 Per Month Broadband
Vodafone has launched a new, low-cost broadband plan to help people on low incomes. The £12 per month service is the cheapest in the UK and offers download speeds of up to 38Mbps.
This makes it £3 per month cheaper than BT’s Home Essentials Broadband.
Both plans are available to eligible customers, which means you’ll need to show that you’re receiving benefits as part of the sign-up process.
Vodafone’s plan is called Essentials Broadband, and you can get the service if you receive:
- Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Universal Credit
- Employment and Support Allowanc
- Disability Living Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment
Also, if you’re an existing Vodafone customer who has already been identified as financially vulnerable, you can also get Essentials Broadband.
To apply, complete this online form. You’ll get a confirmation email, and a call from Vodafone to verify your eligibility. This may be up to a week after you apply. The process does involve a credit check.
Are there any extra costs for Vodafone Essentials Broadband?
There’s no set-up fee. And as far as we know, there is no delivery fee either, although we’re waiting for confirmation from Vodafone about that.
Also, know that this is a 12-month contract. You can continue for a further 12 months, so long as you are still receiving one of the benefits listed above.
Can I get a cheap mobile SIM from Vodafone too?
Yes. Vodafone offers a special VOXI For Now plan which usually costs £35 per month, but is discounted to £10 per month for anyone on those same benefits.
The six-month plan includes unlimited 5G data, as well as unlimited minutes and texts. As this is not a contract, there is no credit check.
