Volvo XC90 luxury SUV turned into an off-roader by DC2 is the wildest XC90 we’ve seen in India

0 29

Whenever premium luxury SUVs are discussed, the Volvo XC90 is a name that always comes up due to its high level of sophistication. As one of the most premium and safest SUVs sold in India, the Volvo XC90 is renowned for its understated elegance and minimalist design approach. However, DC2 Studio, formerly known as DC Design, based in India, has completely transformed it to give it the appearance of a rugged off-roader with a brand-new identity inside and out.

We recently came across a YouTube video by DC2 that showcases the exterior and interior of this unconventional modified Volvo XC90, which now looks radically different from the large, boxy, and upright stock version of the SUV. In this modification project, DC2 has turned the Volvo XC90 into an off-roader that appears ready to tackle the toughest terrains and even survive a zombie apocalypse, should one ever occur.

At the front, this strikingly modified Volvo XC90 features an elongated beehive-designed grille that gives the vehicle a distinctive look. It also includes projector headlamps and daytime running LEDs neatly integrated into the side gaps of the grille. Unlike the original XC90’s four-door layout, this modified vehicle now boasts two gullwing doors that open upwards, similar to those of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

To achieve a rugged off-road appearance, DC2 has equipped this vehicle with 21-inch alloy wheels fitted with all-terrain tires. At the rear, this off-roader, based on the Volvo XC90, draws inspiration from Aston Martin supercars, featuring a coupe-like profile with wide LED tail lamps and a connecting LED bar between them. The rear also showcases large flared wheel arches and a beehive-designed rear bumper with faux exhaust tips.

Significant cabin changes

While DC2 has retained the original dashboard and its components from the Volvo XC90, the rest of the cabin has undergone significant modifications. The off-roader now boasts four red-colored bucket seats and modified seat belts, omitting the B-pillars for a unique appearance. It retains the original steering wheel, full-TFT instrument console, and portrait-styled infotainment system found in the Volvo XC90. Additionally, this off-roader features a customized ambient lighting package to create a lounge-like atmosphere inside.

While we acknowledge the creativity and effort put into this modification by DC2, it’s important to note that such extensive alterations to a vehicle’s original appearance and structure may render it unsuitable for use on public roads.
