Mahindra will soon announce the price of the all-new Scorpio-N in the Indian market. Before the official revealing of the Scorpio-N, Mahindra has already revealed what the new SUV looks like. However, the off-roading capabilities of the new car still remain a mystery to many. Here is a video of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N test mule that shows it pacing through the off-roading track.

It seems like a curated off-roading track for the Mahindra Scorpio. The video shared by MotorBeam shows the test mule of the production version of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio on the off-road track.

The short video shows the Mahindra Scorpio N showing off its articulation capabilities. It also goes through water-filled pits on the ground. The Scorpio-N also takes a turn tilted at a sharp angle. It sure is a glimpse of what the all-new Mahindra Scorpio-N will be able to do in the real world.

Will get AWD system

The new Scorpio-N will offer 4X4 with four modes. There is no information on the availability of the low-ratio transfer case. However, it is highly likely that Mahindra will offer the low-ratio transfer case only with the pure off-road capable – Thar.

However, the Scorpio-N will be able to reach a lot of tight spaces. The SUV can handle 47 degrees of descent and 57 degrees ascents easily. There is no information on the exact approach and the departure angles yet.

But it sure will be much more capable than the competitors that do not offer an AWD system or 4X4 system yet. The Mahindra Scorpio-N will definitely reach a lot of extreme spots that other vehicles find difficult to reach.

Mahindra will use rear Penta-link suspension with Frequency Selective Dampers (FSD). The FSD reduces the horizontal movement of the car on the bad road surfaces. The leaked information also reveals that the high-speed handling, cornering and road manners of the new Scorpio are way better than the current-generation model.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will be offered with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and 2.2-litre diesel engine from the Thar and XUV700. Both these engine options will be there in the Scorpio-N in a different state of tune – 170 PS for the petrol and 155 PS for the diesel. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will be positioned as a more premium alternative over the current Scorpio, which will be rebranded as Scorpio Classic.

Exterior official revealed

Design details have been revealed in the teaser images and video of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N. The new SUV will get features like LED projector headlamps with dynamic LED turn indicators, C-shaped daytime running LEDs and LED fog lamps on the front bumper, vertical chrome slats on the front grille and a silver skid plate. It also gets rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn indicators, diamond-cut alloy wheels, roof rails and chrome garnish on the exterior door handles and window beltline, which extends towards the D-pillar in a wraparound fashion.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N has been indigenously developed by the company’s research and development teams at Mahindra Research Valley near Chennai and Mahindra Design Studio in Mumbai, apart from the inputs from Mahindra North American Technical Centre in the USA. The new Scorpio-N will be locally manufactured at Mahindra’s production facility in Chakan. The prices of the new Scorpio-N will be officially announced on 27th June 2022.
