Week 26 in review: Asus launches Zenfone 10, Xiaomi 13T lineup leaks, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 becomes official
We send away the first half of 2023 with yet another batch of leaks and teasers. Xiaomi 13T series is on its way, and we saw some specs of the vanilla 13T and the 13T Pro.
Nothing is a brand that generates a lot of hype and we aren’t surprised a Glyph composer, developed jointly with EDM behemoths Swedish House Mafia, was one of the top stories of the past week. There was another, more interesting development around the new phone of Carl Pei’s company, as his team shared two teasers, revealing a flat panel and a transparent back that still keeps the signature LED lights.
Many Samsung fans are expecting the Summer Unpacked event, and the Galaxy Z Flip5 in a spy shot was a popular talk topic around the watercooler. A Galaxy S23 FE is also on its way, which is following the overall S23 design, but we are unsure whether it will be part of the event or have a separate launch.
Qualcomm released its latest chipset for affordable midrangers, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, and one of the first phones to get it is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12R. The Zenfone 10 was finally introduced by Asus with improvements like wireless charging and a new gimbal.
Here are all the biggest stories from the past week:
Both phones will feature 144Hz AMOLED screens and 5,000 mAh batteries.
The Gen 2 is also the first Snapdragon 4-series chip with 5G Release 16. Additionally, it has improved noise reduction and EIS for videos.
Phone (2) will bring a centered punch-hole display and curved aluminum sides.
It’s rumored to launch in select markets in Q3 2023.
The upcoming clamshell foldable was spotted out in the wild.
The teasing, it’s just relentless.
A big screen experience you can wear on your face.
The device is already up for open sale in China.
Last year the company released a Poke Ball version of the Buds2, this special edition is themed after three popular Pokemon.
As well as a 144Hz display and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
The solution is simple enough – a strap to help spread the weight – but that might cost extra.
Starting on Thursday you will be able to put down a small, refundable deposit on Flipkart to reserve a spot in the queue and get some perks.
It goes on sale later today in the US, Europe, and Japan.
It looks just like the A24 4G which launched back in April.
The phone is said to stick to an Oreo-shaped camera island.
It will have three color options.
HMD is also partnering with iFixit to bring repair guides and OEM repair parts for the device.
The Reno10 series is coming to the Indian market as part of its global rollout.
Features the traditional OnePlus slider and an IR blaster.
The phone looks like its predecessor, with minor design changes on the back.
The design seems familiar, right? But there are some differences on the outside and there may be more differences on the inside.
Open sales in China start on June 30.
Helio G99 chip and a 6.78-inch 120Hz display.
It’s launching on July 4 with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
The main display on the inside will be an LTPO AMOLED panel, it’s not clear if that applies to the cover display, though.
