What are the new Galaxy AI features on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series?
The new Galaxy AI features are built-in, and don’t require any third-party app. These features are available with the Galaxy S24 series, and some require the hardware on these phones as well. But Samsung will bring some of these AI features to older phones including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
Samsung hasn’t clarified which features exactly will make it to the older phones, but it should arrive sometime before June this year.

Circle to Search: This feature has been co-created with Google, and it works by doing a long press on the home button. Then users can circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap anything on the screen to see search results. You can use this feature across different apps. It’s also coming to the Pixel 8 series, besides debuting with the S24 lineup.
Live Translate: Live Translate enables two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls. This feature is built-in the native app of the Galaxy S24 series.
Interpreter: As the name suggests, Interpreter works as a translation tool for when you need to talk to someone who speaks a different language. This feature translates live conversations with a split-screen view so two people can easily read the translated text. Interpreter also can also work without internet connectivity.
Chat Assist: Chat Assist is a feature that’s available in the Samsung Keyboard. This feature basically helps you make conversation by suggesting suitable replies and phrases. Chat Assist can also translate messages in real-time in 13 languages.
Android Auto: Android Auto is designed to help you keep your eyes on the road while driving by automatically summarising incoming messages, and suggesting relevant replies and actions. One example is sending someone your ETA through Android Auto.
Note Assist: This feature is available in Samsung Notes, and it helps create AI-based summaries, templates with pre-made formats, and covers for your notes.
Transcript Assist: You can use this feature to transcribe, summarise and translate recordings.
Samsung has also added AI editing features for the Galaxy S24 cameras. Similar to Google’s editing tools, Samsung has also brought in features like erase, re-compose, and remaster. Galaxy AI can also suggest tweaks for your photos, and even fill parts of an image background.
Galaxy S24 phones also come with support for Super HDR on Instagram. Now taking photos with the Instagram camera app on your Galaxy S24 will bring better quality images with more detailed highlights, shadows and colours.
