Electric cars are all the rage in the country and the world right now and more and more automakers are jumping on the EV bandwagon. Recently Tata Motors launched the Tiago EV and MG Motor India also launched its Comet EV in the hatchback segment to bank on the increasing demand of EVs in the country. It is believed that other automakers like the South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor India could also soon follow. And if that happens then the most likely model in the hatchback segment from Hyundai will be the all-electric variant of its popular hatchback Grand i10. Recently a video rendering of the electrified version of the Grand i10 Nios has surfaced and it gives us a glimpse into the future of the model.

The video rendering of the all-electric Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has been shared on YouTube by SRK Designs on their channel. The video shows the rendered i10 electric front design in detail at the beginning. From the rendering, we can note that the artist has given the i10 Electric a closed-off grille at the front which is one of the signature features of an EV. Most EV models do not have a grille in front because they do not have radiators or a traditional cooling system.

We can also note that the artist has also changed the front bumper of the i10 Nios and in this electrified version, it looks more squarish than the outgoing model. Other details of the this EV i10 include a new design for the fog lamps and most importantly a completely new design for the headlamps. The headlights of this concept EV look a lot more futuristic. Another one of the major highlights at the front is the inclusion of a full width DRL similar to the one that we have seen in the newest generation of the mid-size sedan Verna.

Moving on the sides we can note that the artist has also given the EV hatchback a set of bigger alloy wheels. The more unique element of these alloy wheels is that they have the aerodisc design which is seen in lot of high end EV cars. This type of alloy wheel design enables the electric cars to have a longer range as it reduces the amount of drag of the car. We can also note that the overall car gets much sharper body lines that the outgoing Grand i10 Nios.

As of yet, there have been no information around the arrival of this car but more likely than not it seems like the most logical step for the South Korean automaker to launch this hatchback in India to compete with the EV hatchbacks like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV.

In other Hyundai news, a test mule for the forthcoming Hyundai Creta EV that was completely undisguised was recently seen road-testing in the country roads. According to reports, the new Hyundai Creta EV will be based on the Creta’s existing internal combustion engine model, which is available with both petrol and diesel engine choices. The test mule of the Hyundai Creta EV was seen without certain features typical of all-electric vehicles, such as an exhaust pipe and a radiator behind the front grille.
