Recently, WhatsApp has been testing multiple new features for the beta version of the Android app such as the ability to make screen sharing even easier, and automatic status sharing to Instagram. Some new features have also been introduced to Channels. In a new report, it is revealed that WhatsApp is now working on bringing the message-forwarding feature to Channels.

In simple words, WhatsApp users could soon be able to forward messages from other chats to their joined Channels. This includes sending text, images, videos, GIFs, audio messages, stickers, and more. As per WABetaInfo, the ability to forward messages to Channels was spotted in the latest Android beta v2.23.26.2.

The new feature is currently in development and hasn’t fully rolled out to all beta testers. While the availability of this new feature is still far, the function of the feature is already out in the open. As per the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, the feature works exactly how one expects it to work, i.e., it lets you forward messages from a group or 1:1 conversation to the Channel that you run.

The best part is that WhatsApp will let you edit the message in another chat window before you forward it to a Channel. While the feature could come in handy if you wish to share any important information, the ability to send text, images, videos, etc., could also be used for spreading false information or barging a Channel with negative information. Keeping in mind that the feature is currently in its beta stage, WhatsApp could soon rollout the feature to the stable version of the Android app.
