Why I Bought A Used Mitsubishi Lancer: Owner Narrates Story [Video]

0 19

Mitsubishi was once an aspirational brand for many car users in India. We had models like the Lancer, Cedia, and Pajero from Mitsubishi in India. The brand, due to various reasons, left the market. While there are rumors of Mitsubishi returning to India, there is no concrete proof to support the same. The Lancer was one of those sedans that absolutely ruled the segment at one point in time. It was considered to be a premium sedan, and even today, there is a decent fan base for it. Here, we have a video where a YouTuber explains why he bought a used Mitsubishi Lancer.

The video has been shared by Arun Triads | Chirayil Fam. on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger mentions that he never thought that this day would come, but he somehow managed to buy a car. We are living in a time where people are all planning to buy SUVs that have better road presence and ground clearance.

We are also looking for cars that are better in terms of features and fuel efficiency. The vlogger also had these thoughts in mind, but this time he ignored what his brain said and went with his heart.

He listened to his heart and picked up a used 2005 model Mitsubishi Lancer. He mentions that he had liked it since he was a kid. He saw this car in the movie “The Fast and the Furious.” He saw a version of this in the video game “NFS Most Wanted” and has also seen this car in many Japanese animated series. We have several modified versions of Lancer sedans in India; however, finding a clean example is quite difficult.

The vlogger was, in fact, looking for something like that. However, he couldn’t find it. Even if he found one, it was way out of his budget. When he was going through an online used car platform one day, he saw this very same car and liked it. He spoke to the previous owners and bought the car. He mentions that his plan was to modify a car after buying it. However, when he saw the advertisement, he found the car very close to what he had in his mind.

After buying the car, he has not done any modifications except for the exhaust. It now has an aftermarket exhaust with a low rumble sound, which feels quite sporty. The car was powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 87 PS and 132 Nm of peak torque. It was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The owner or vlogger mentions that he has been getting around 10-12 kmpl from the car after installing the exhaust.

He also plans to modify the front bumper of this sedan. His plan is to give it a rally car-like look. He mentions that the blue paint job of the car is both a positive and a negative. It attracts a lot of eyes on the road, including the cops.

As we already know, modified vehicles and the Kerala MVD don’t go hand in hand. The owner ends the video by saying that it made him happy and that is all that mattered. It doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else.
