The world’s fastest charging phone will launch globally at this year’s MWC

If you’re confused, we don’t blame you. So, let’s explain this. The Realme GT Neo5 240W launched about a week ago in China. Realme is bringing that same phone to global markets, but with a different name, that’s it. The end product will be called the Realme GT3.

That’s a good call, as the Realme GT3 is a much simpler name. Realme will launch the device at MWC 2023 in Barcelona, where we’ll see many other tech announcements.

Now, considering that this phone already launched in China, we basically know what to expect. The device features a flat display, with a centered display camera hole. It includes three cameras on the back. The main camera is a 50-megapixel one from Sony (IMX890). That one is backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel microscope lens.

It supports 240W wired charging, and charges fully in only 9 minutes

A 4,600mAh battery sits inside the 240W variant. It is worth noting that a model with a 5,000mAh battery and 150W charging also launched in China. We’re not sure if that one will be made available globally or not.

A 6.74-inch 2772 x 1240 AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate is also included. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 fuels this smartphone. On top of all that, Realme also included LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage.

Android 13 comes pre-installed on the phone in China, and the same will likely be the case globally. Realme UI 4.0 will be included on top of Google’s operating system. You will also get two nano SIM card slots on the inside.
