Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) is set to kickstart tomorrow, June 5 at 10:30pm IST. Major highlight of the event is expected to be the company’s first mixed reality headset that Apple may finally unveil. According to a tweet by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the device may notify select consumers with certain health conditions that they should not buy or use the device due to the impact of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) on health.

He says that these potential customers may include people with Meniere’s Disease, past traumatic brain injuries, post-concussion syndrome, migraines and vertigo.”

In the tweet, Gurman says that Apple has built a large structure on the Apple Park campus to provide controlled hands-on demos of the device to some attendees and media at the conference. The iPhone maker company has also set up an area at the basketball courts near its employee fitness center.

He states that Apple is planning future demos through the summer. “When it shows off the device, it’s planning to focus on immersive FaceTime in VR, Apple TV+ content and gaming,” the tweet reads.

Another interesting piece of information shared by Gurman in the tweet is that some testers have already found the product which is nearing a development stage called DVT — or Design Validation Testing — to overheat.

Another Apple tipster Ross Young has shared alleged specifications of Apple’s mixed reality headset. In a post on micro blogging site Twitter last month, Young said that Apple AR/VR headset will feature dual 1.41-inch micro OLED displays with 4,000 PPI index and more than 5,000 nits of brightness.

The mixed reality headset is rumoured to be called ‘Reality Pro’. Apple Reality Pro could be powered by a chipset with a processor similar to Apple’s M2 chipset and could sport a dozen or so cameras to detect body movements and read facial expressions. The headset is rumoured to be be priced at around $3,000 ( 2.48 lakh).
