Xiaomi 15 series tipped to pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, display specs also leaked
Last month, we came across the Xiaomi 15 series processor and display details. Now, some of those details have been corroborated by a Chinese tipster. Let’s check out what the new tip claims. We shall also try to figure out when the 2024 Xiaomi flagships will be released.
Xiaomi 15 specs (expected)
- Processor: Tipster Smart/Wisdom Pikachu on Weibo says the Xiaomi 15 series will be running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. If you recall the Xiaomi 14 series was announced on the same date when Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 debuted.
- Display: The vanilla Xiaomi 15 could sport a 6.36-inch screen. That’s relatively smaller compared to most phones today.
The tipster reiterates the screen will be of 1.5K resolution (2500 x 1200 pixels). As he is talking about some black technology, we assume it could be related to the capabilities of OLED in use.
This could also have flat edges, and flaunt a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate (thanks to the underlying LTPO tech).
Previously, we had also heard that this panel could light up to 1,400 nits.
Xiaomi 15 Pro specs (expected)
- Processor: It could have the same Snapdragon processor as above.
- Display: This one could wield a 2K AMOLED display with thinner bezels compared to its precursor. It could have 0.6mm bezels while the Xiaomi 14 Pro had 0.9mm bezels.
Xiaomi 15 series launch timeframe (expected)
As per another tipster DigitalChatStation on Weibo, the Xiaomi 15 series could go into mass production in September 2024. This could mean the Xiaomi 15 launch could be in October 2024 just like its predecessor.
Just to recap, the Xiaomi 14 series came with a 120Hz AMOLED display with 3,000 nits peak brightness, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, 50MP+50MP+50MP triple rear camera setup, 32MP front camera, and Android 14-based HyperOS software.
