Xiaomi shares Q1 2023 sales numbers, crosses 600 million active users

Xiaomi has announced its Q1 2023 results, and as part of that announcement, the company shared some interesting numbers. Xiaomi managed to sell 30.4 million smartphones in the first quarter of this year.

The smartphone business actually managed to reach CNY35 billion (almost $5 billion) in revenue. The ASP was CNY1,152 ($163), which is 2.7% higher over the same period last year.

Xiaomi also announced that it counted 594.8 million monthly active users in Q1 2023. By the time this announcement went live, however, the company crossed the 600 million milestone.

Xiaomi grabbed third place in Q1 2023 market share by accounting for 11.3% of the market. It is worth noting that both Apple and Samsung shipped almost twice as many phones as Xiaomi in the same period.

The company did great in China too, despite losing its third place

When it comes to Xiaomi’s home market, China, the company did great. It managed to improve by 22.2% QoQ (Quarter-over-Quarter) when it comes to sold smartphones. Vivo did manage to step over Xiaomi, and thus push Xiaomi to a fourth place overall. Apple was first in China, while OPPO was second.

When it comes to total revenue for Q1 2023, not just the smartphone business, that was also published. Xiaomi announced a total revenue of CNY59.5 billion ($8.43 billion). The adjusted net profit was CNY3.2 billion ($450 million). If we count in the expenses related to the smart EV business, that number drops to CNY1.1 billion ($150 million).

Xiaomi is also well-known for its AIoT devices. The number of such devices increased to 618 million, and 12.3 million users have 5 or more AIoT devices from Xiaomi. The company has plenty of different AIoT devices on the market, ranging from smart air conditioners to smart TVs.
