In an official blog post, Google revealed that its AI chatbot, Bard AI, now has the ability to answer questions related to YouTube videos. While Google’s Bard AI could handle and analyze YouTube videos with the help of an extension, now the chatbot can give you specific answers related to the content of a video.

Google says, “For example, if you’re looking for videos on how to make olive oil cake, you can now also ask how many eggs the recipe in the first video requires.” This is great as it helps you engage deeply with YouTube videos, which was not possible previously with the YouTube Extension for Bard. With the Google Bard AI chatbot’s new ability, instead of asking to find a travel video, you can now ask Bard where the place is located.

Google Bard AI’s new YouTube feature is available for all users

This Bard AI chatbot’s ability to deeply analyze YouTube videos comes on the back of one feature that YouTube is separately testing to let you ask questions about videos. This is an opt-in experience for YouTube Premium customers that will help summarize the video, recommend related videos, and tell more about a topic. YouTube’s feature draws information from the web and the video.

Google Bard AI can answer questions about the video the user is currently viewing, and the conversation happens as the video plays. The summarizer makes use of generative AI to give an overview of the video. Users can continue the conversation and also ask follow-up questions. The good thing is that Google’s Bard AI new YouTube feature is available for all users, even though it is under testing.
