All major companies, such as Google, Microsoft, etc., are banking on AI and investing heavily on it. Microsoft has taken its interest in AI to the next level with Copilot. Now, starting this year, Microsoft will add a new Copilot button to Windows keyboards that will help them launch the Microsoft Copilot directly using the dedicated key.

In an official blog post, Microsoft announced that new Windows PCs will ship with the dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard. This has already started in the new lineup of Dell XPS laptops. Since it will be available on all Windows PCs starting in 2024, the Samsung Galaxy Book might also see the dedicated Copilot button on its keyboards.

Microsoft says that the Copilot button will start appearing on more machines at CES 2024

The company says that the addition of the Microsoft Copilot key to Windows 11 PC keyboards is the first significant change in nearly three decades. Microsoft adds that more machines will start seeing this change at CES 2024, which is due to begin next week. The same change will appear on Surface devices in 2024.

As per the official video, Microsoft unveiled that the Copilot button will appear on the right side of the space bar and will rest between the Alt and arrow keys. In the demo videos shown thus far of the Dell XPS laptops, the Copilot button is placed on the right side of the CTRL key. There might be some learning curve involved for users to get used to the new button, but it could help them assist with tasks using AI. The user can disable the Copilot function, and it will perform a normal search in Windows.
