Zomato Delivery Agent Rides Horse to Deliver Orders

0 49

The truck drivers’ association has finally called off the strike. In the last couple of days, we have come across several videos and images from different parts of the country related to this strike. Many petrol pumps saw long queues, and some of them even ran out of fuel. People were panic-buying fuel after they came across reports of the truck drivers’ strike. A Zomato delivery agent in Hyderabad came up with a unique idea to continue working without waiting in long queues at the petrol pump. He chose to ride a horse to get his orders delivered on time. The video has already gone viral on the internet.

The video seen here has been shared by Gagandeep Singh on his X profile (formerly Twitter). In this 22-second video, we can see the delivery agent speaking to someone who is recording the video on the road. The man riding the horse is carrying a bag with Zomato branding on it, indicating that he is probably on his way to deliver an order to a customer. He can be heard saying in the video that he waited at the petrol pump for hours but could not get petrol for his bike.

This was probably the reason that forced him to look for alternate options to get the order delivered. He rides the horse quite confidently, which shows he has prior experience in riding a horse. While others are waiting for their turn at the petrol pump, this guy decided to opt for an alternate method without wasting his time. The comment section under this video praises the delivery agent. One of them wrote, “Fellow deserves praise for the commitment to work. Hope he was tipped handsomely.” There are others who have posted surprised and salute emojis under this video.

The name or details of this delivery agent who is seen riding the horse are not known, but we hope Zomato locates him soon and rewards him for his efforts. In July last year, we came across a similar video from Mumbai where a person carrying a Swiggy bag was seen riding a horse. The video became so viral that it prompted Swiggy’s team to actually trace the person. After doing their bit of research, they located the person and realized that the person riding the horse was not their delivery partner.

The man was identified as Sushant, a 17-year-old who works at a horse stable in Mumbai. Unlike the old video, this one looks like a genuine case. The person riding the horse can be seen telling the person recording the video that the fuel crisis in his region forced him to take this measure. The truckers were protesting the provision in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which is set to replace the Indian Penal Code. Under it, drivers who cause road accidents due to negligent driving and run away without informing the police can face up to 10 years in prison or a fine of Rs 7 lakh. This strike has affected the supply of fuel and other commodities to many parts of the country, and this is what has created chaos in many petrol pumps.
