Amazon: Amazon announces free courses on generative AI: All details

has announced “AI Ready” – a program designed to provide free AI skills training to 2 million people globally by 2025. The company is launching three initiatives to achieve this goal. The e-commerce giant says that there is a strong demand for AI talent and the potential for workers with AI skills to earn up to 47% more in salaries.

“Amazon is launching AI Ready to help those with a desire to learn about AI and benefit from the tremendous opportunity ahead. The following initiatives are designed to open opportunities to those in the workforce today as well as the future generation,” said Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of Data and AI at AWS.

Under these initiatives, Amazon is launching eight new and free AI and generative AI courses. There’s also Amazon Web Services (AWS) Generative AI Scholarship and new collaboration with Code.org designed to help students learn about generative AI

The free generative AI training courses include training in foundational to advanced technologists. These courses augment the 80+ free and low-cost AI and generative AI courses and resources provided through AWS.

For business and nontechnical audiences, Amazon will provide course in introduction to generative AI, its applications, and need-to-know concepts, like foundation models.

There is ‘Generative AI Learning Plan for Decision Makers’ – a three-course series covering how to plan a generative AI project and build a generative AI–ready organisation.

Thirdly, there is introduction to Amazon CodeWhisperer that will teach participants how to use Amazon’s AI code generator, which produces whole lines of code.

For developers and technical audiences, Amazon will offer courses on foundations of prompt engineering, low-code machine learning on AWS, building LLms on AWS and building generative AI applications using Amazon Bedrock.
