Sony is expanding its Android 13 presence. The company has started rolling out Android 13 to the Xperia 5 IV, Xperia PRO-I, Xperia 1 III, and Xperia 5 III. These four devices follow the Xperia 1 IV, which received the update last month.

Android 13 is now rolling out to the Xperia 5 IV, and more devices

The update started out in select regions, but it will quickly spread to other markets, so be on the lookout. At the moment, though, the Xperia 5 IV is getting the update in southeast Asia and Japan.

The update is rolling out to the dual SIM variant (XQ-CQ72) of the device, and the NTT Docomo variant (SO-54C). You will recognize it be the 64.1.A.0.857 build number in Asia, and the 64.1.C.0.90 build number in Japan (NTT Docomo). Those updates are including the security patch for December.

The Xperia PRO-I, Xperia 1 III, and Xperia 5 III are also getting the update

Updates for the Sony Xperia PRO-I, Xperia 1 III & Xperia 5 III are also starting in southeast Asia. We’re looking at build numbers 61.2.F.0.147 (PRO-I), 61.2.A.0.382 (Xperia 1 III), and 61.2.A.0.381 (Xperia 5 III).

Do note that these three devices are getting the update with a November security patch, though, not December. The device models that are currently receiving the update are XQ-BE72 (PRO-I), XQ-BC72 (1 III), and XQ-BQ72 (5 III).

Users in other regions will start getting Android 13 soon

Now, if you live in Europe, or some other market you purchased some of these devices, don’t fret. The update will quickly move to other markets, based on previous updates, at the very least.

The update will likely spread its wings in the coming days, or weeks, at the very least. So, you won’t have to wait for long at all. Your phone will let you know once the update is available, or you can check manually, of course.
